Sure hope this works....
We have been busy the last week doing some major (for us) landscaping. Our setback is HUGE (~ 1300 sq. ft.) and every square inch covered with thirsty grass. So last Friday we rented a sod cutter and in 1.5 hours Greg got it all cut up. He could hardly move on the 4th, it worked him over so badly. After that we went to town piling up all the grass to create center raised beds. We have friends that did this and it looks great, you just have to be patient. The idea is you let it breakdown over a year and then next year you have nice rich soil to plant stuff in. We're rocking in the rest of it and making a little walkway out front (the sidewalk ends at our neighbor's house). Next year we'll plant some aspen and drought-tolerant shrubs and flowers in the beds and have them on drip irrigation. We've got one side pretty much completed. Just need to go on some rock hunting trips to line the walkway and bed with bigger rocks. Unfortunately our camera just officially bit the dust as you can see from the last photos, and just when we had spent $50 bucks on a new battery! Figures. I'll have to go get another one immedialmete.
