I gave Jessie her first haircut this week. Greg and Boppie were both against it, but I thought it really needed to be evened up a bit. The back gets crazy and it takes forever to try to get all the tangles out. I just trimmed it a couple of inches in the back while she was busy in the bathtub playing with Bath Puppy, one of her new Christmas toys that she is absolutely enamored with.

We had a nice Christmas year. Christmas Eve at our house, and Christmas day at Mom's. Mark and Christina were in town, and it was good to have everyone together. Jessie absolutely loved her aunts and uncles this year. Once we got to Mom's, we hardly talked to her all day. She was very enthralled with the whole process and quickly got the hang of opening presents.

Holy Scowl!!

I took Jessie on Monday to see Santa with my friend Jen, her daughter Ellie, and Ellie's friend, Isabo. Ellie and Isabo are in the 4th grade and they doted on Jessie the whole time. Jessie loved all the attention and trying to keep up with the big girls. It was also a great way to get Jessie to cooperate with posing for a Santa picture. She wouldn't consent to sitting on his lap, but was okay being next to him. She told him she wanted a dolly. Jessie thinks it is hilarious to scowl these days, as demonstrated in the above photo. She is always doing it, and as soon as someone comments, she dies laughing.

Here's a link to a video that Santa sent Jessie. She was enthralled and wanted to watch it a million times. Not sure how we're going to make it until Christmas. She's being very good with all the presents, but her patience is being tested. Tonight she was giving them to Doggie (newly dubbed Steve) and Snoopy. Snoopy got a little carried away and began to unwrap one of Christina's presents before I noticed what was going on. Snoopy and I had a little talk after that.

We had a wintry wonderland on Saturday finding our tree, and the snow kept coming all night and most of Sunday too. Jessie wasn't too sure about tromping around in the snow, and the adventure soon grew tiresome. We settled on a tree to hurry things up, and it actually turned out to be a very nice one once we got it home and decorated.

Waiting for the parade

Jessie and I attempted to go to the annual Parade of Lights downtown tonight where they light the official Christmas tree of Missoula and Santa cruises down Higgins, but after about 10 minutes of waiting for it to start, Jessie was done. It was horribly cold, with snow and high winds and she just kept saying, "Let's go home." So we did.

Winter's arrived in Missoula.
