Jessie listens to every word we say and it amazes us how much she absorbs. Yesterday she started going around saying "Oh my gosh, Sammy so dirty." This morning it's, "Oh my gosh, Mary" (her little finger puppet) as she rocks with Mary on the rocking horse. At least it's not worse.
Here we are in all our green sweaters for St. Patrick's Day. I finally finished Greg's sweater and also lengthened Jessie's sleeves just in time. Tonight I'm redoing the bottom of Greg's because we don't like it, but it was good enough to wear today. Jessie was confused because I was forcing her to wear her hat and jacket while we wearing playing outside, but then made her take them off for the picture.
Jessie had a fun-filled birthday yesterday. She got to open some presents first thing when she woke up, including a big-girl tricycle with pedals from us and some packages that had come in the mail. Armed with a new bike and sidewalk chalk, she wanted to go outside immediately. Next came a few rides on the carousel and watching the St. Patrick's Day parade. She quickly got the hang of picking up candy and wanted to eat it all. She even caught some beads. She actually wanted to wear her crown the whole morning. It was very cute and got her a lot of candy.
Jessie has been enjoying getting birthday cards and presents this week. She reads her cards and says, "happy 2nd brithday Jessie" over and over. She doesn't know what it means exactly, but she knows it means presents and attention.
We ignored the fact that it was blowing snow and freezing outside on Sunday and grilled up some hamburgers. Jessie shares my love of pickles and asked to drink the pickle juice. Greg and I looked at each other in amazement because when I was younger I would drink cups of the stuff. We didn't honor her request.
Yesterday, after Jessie had been in her room napping for about 1 and 1/2 hours, we hear "Sleeeeve!! Sleeeve!" on the monitor. Below is what we found upon walking in there - her arm had somehow popped out of the neck hole of her shirt.
